Stop Drag Queen Story Hour in Kelowna, BC

UPDATE: the committee went ahead with approving the DQSH. Action4Canada, along with other organizations across Canada will be working to shut them down permanently nationwide.
URGENT! Call To Action!
There will be a board meeting on Nov. 20th to decide the future of Library Drag Queen Story Hours in the Okanagan, BC. This outcome will most likely set a precedence.
Drag Queen Story events for children are rapidly increasing and we need to work to shut them down. They are very harmful to children.
I have drafted a letter (below) and request that you sign it, or write your own, and send to Mr. Nettlton, CEO of Okanagan Library, and support his efforts to prohibit them. Please also CC: the media listed.
If you know of any other DQSH events please use info from this letter and ask friends, family and neighbours to join you in opposing them. Gathering a group of people to protest is also critical so work toward uniting people in your community as this is an effective way to shut them down. Our kids are relying on us to stop this insanity.

Thank you for taking a stand against the Drag Queen Story hours.
Monica Gaucher, Okanagan Regional Library’s public services director, is reported defending the event saying, “I stand on the other side of that memo, and as librarians, we will defend the Charter of Rights. We will defend freedom to speak”.
It is appalling that the Library’s public services director would suggest this is about Charter Rights and the freedom to speak rather than the safety and security of our children. The Activists claim this is “to promote love and acceptance” but nothing could be further from the truth. This is about sexualizing children and grooming them. Children are highly impressionable and foisting drag queens on them and insinuating that this is normal is not acceptable. Children are not capable of discerning what is healthy sexuality and what is ‘not’ and they are relying on responsible adults to protect them. In fact, in the U.S.A. rational and caring parents are suing the city of Houston to stop this madness.
A Drag Queen states,“This is not about tolerance or anti-bullying,…It is a direct and intentional effort to create gender confusion and doubt among very young children at the very time they need solid guidance and understanding. The intent is to plant a seed to make children more likely to question their sexuality or gender at a later age.

What does the life of a Drag Queen look like outside of Drag Queen Story hour for children?

- Convicted pedophile, dressed as a woman, reads to children at public library. Explicit tweets and visits porn sites.

- ?Convicted of multiple sexual assualts against young children, William Travis Dees, has also written a lurid article describing his work as a transgender prostitute. And he was photographed at a Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) event carrying a rubber chicken – a symbol used by homosexuals to indicate a sexual preference for young boys. As part of these DQSH events, Dees has served as a “greeter” for young children as they came into the library. Dees was convicted in 2004 of sex crimes against four young children (ages 4, 5, 6, and 8), was jailed, and is listed as a “high risk sex offender.”
Drag Queens are also part of a bigoted anti-Catholic group….a national organization of cross-dressing homosexual men called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The men dress as garish and hideous parodies of Catholic nuns and mock Catholicism. They are a popular feature in gay pride parades and other LGBT events across the country. They now also do DQSH readings to small children.

What has happened to our society that we have become so morally bankrupt to consider something so blatantly wrong as acceptable and right?
I request that you would pass this information on to the Library Board and reject any and all future Drag Queen story hours and that further steps be taken nationally to shut this down.
