Call to Action: Let’s thank the United Conservative Party for protecting children and biological females!
On December 5, 2024, Bills 26, 27 and 29 all received Royal Assent. Specifically:
- Bill 26 prohibits healthcare professionals from performing opposite sex genital imitation surgery for Albertans under the age of 18 years old; as well as, providing opposite sex hormone drugs, including puberty blockers, for Albertans under the age of 16 years old.
- Bill 27 requires school authorities to notify parents if a student under the age of 16 years old requests to be referred to by a “gender” identity preferred name or pronoun different than their biological sex. It also requires school authorities to provide parents with the opportunity to opt-in their child, rather than opt-out, for any instruction that deals with the topic of gender identity, sexual orientation, and human sexuality and requires approval by the Minister of Education for any learning or teaching resource dealing with these topics unless such resources are being used to provide religious instruction…
- Bill 29 protects the integrity of female athletic competitions by ensuring women and girls have the opportunity to compete in biological female-only divisions…
Action4Canada applauds the passage of these Bills, under Premier Danielle Smith’s leadership. Though there is always more work to be done, this time, rather than pressing our elected leaders for action, we want to take this win and encourage our members to write a Thank You email.

I want to take this opportunity to express my support and gratitude for the December 5th, 2024 passage of Bills 26, 27 and 29. I applaud all involved for standing firm in the face of pushback. I am particularly grateful for your strong and thoughtful leadership in the current cultural climate.
This legislation is the much-needed beginning to protecting Albertan families, vulnerable youth and biological females in their private spaces and sports. There is, of course, more work to be done and this sets a great precedent to create further change.
With the passage of these Bills, you have stayed true to the United Conservative mission to defend the family as the building block of society and to protect public safety. You have done the right thing!
