Mayor Jeff Colvin joins Tanya Gaw on the next Empower Hour in Part 2 of the series on Exposing Municipal Corruption. Mayor Colvin’s story is evidence of deep state corruption and collusion. Mr. Colvin was a democratically elected Mayor of Chestermere, Alberta until he started speaking up against corruption in the City of Chestermere, and cutting taxes. The Minister of Municipal Affairs, Ric McIver, whose job is to “assist municipalities in providing well-managed, collaborative, and accountable local government”, came in and ‘fired’ him as well as three other councillors and set up a provisional council.
It would appear that this is a huge overstep as McIver has violated multiple sections of the Premier’s Mandate Letter which clearly instructs him to “maintain and build relationships of trust, partnership and open dialogue with municipal leaders” and to ensure municipalities are serving the needs of their residents “without interfering with a municipalities autonomy”. Colvin was doing an extraordinary job of cutting taxes and serving the residents, as were the former councillors Stephen Hanley, Mel Foat and Blaine Funk who were ‘fired’ along with Colvin. The four of them are facing extreme intimidation from the powers that be, but they are not cowering or keeping quiet. Instead, they are on a province-wide speaking tour revealing the truth about what is going on in Alberta’s municipalities. They have made a slate of allegations against Alberta’s Municipal Affairs minister, the RCMP and others they claim conspired to cause their ouster.
Colvin says he was trying to clean up corruption, reduce taxes, build roads, etc. He found millions of wasted dollars, as well as fraudulent and inefficient processes and excesses. City projects were being profoundly overcharged, for example: $400,000 for a $75,000 dog park; $100,000 for a single $1,300 tv; 300 cell phones and 60 visa cards for 120 staff; and millions of extra dollars spent on past capital projects.
When Colvin started digging, staff started quitting with some wanting to come forward if they were assured that they would be ‘forgiven’. One manager wanted $600,000 to be paid out as ‘hush’ money for staff that were leaving. Indemnity was demanded but Colvin refused to give it. He brought his findings to the Ministry and the RCMP. They turned on him. Staff also worked against Colvin – allegedly concealing facts, deleting emails, and hiding and removing incriminating files. Colvin now realizes the corruption is much deeper than he thought, he accuses the RCMP and Municipal Affairs of being in collusion together.
On December 4, 2023, through a ministerial order, Mayor Colvin, three councillors and three CAOs were formally dismissed. Douglas Lagore, was undemocratically appointed Official Administrator (OA), to act as council and an interim CAO was appointed to oversee council and administration until a by-election is organized for a new council later this year. In his brief time in office as OA Lagore has already “cancelled contracts and is making bold policy decisions” and reversing some of the decisions made by former Mayor Colvin and city councillors.
Be sure to Register in Advance for this upcoming Empower Hour to hear more details about the hush money and corruption and the steps Colvin and the councillors are taking to return to office.
We have seen a disturbing trend of municipalities being run by outside forces, making resident’s voices irrelevant. Anyone who is not following scripts initiated by the United Nations is discredited and removed from office. Action4Canada is committed to help expose the corruption and educate, equip, empower and mobilize citizens to take action in their own communities by providing effective resources and strategies.
Action Steps:
- Attend every Council meeting in support of elected officials who are fighting against unprecedented corruption and abuse.
- Challenge the corruption, and global agenda by meeting with your mayor and council and educating them on critical issues that are in violation of citizen’s unalienable rights and freedoms. Such as the 15 Minute/SMART City rollout that is creating a social credit system wherein citizens will constantly be under surveillance and their mobility will be restricted.
- Hold the Mayor and Council personally accountable by serving them the 15 Minute City Notice of Liability.
- Gather evidence by filing a Freedom of Information (FOI) and help expose the potential corruption within your municipality or township.
- Start to prepare for the next election NOW by organizing candidates who share our values, to run for office!
Corruption within municipalities is rapidly increasing and it is time to expose and expel every mayor and city councillor who not only poses a threat to our democracy but also may be using their position to enrich themselves or advance a personal, or global agenda.
Exposing Municipal Corruption: Part 1
Lisa Robinson, Pickering City Councillor, joined Tanya Gaw on the Empower Hour (April 10, 2024) to discuss and expose the abusive treatment, including threats and sexual harassment, that she is enduring as a councillor in the City of Pickering. Cllr. Robinson has faced vehement opposition by Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe, and fellow councillors. Her opponents have called her everything from homophobic to Islamophobic; from bigot to racist. Just recently the Pickering Councillors voted to involve the Ontario Human Rights Commission asking for her removal from public office, to stop Robinson from bringing her views to council. They would like to have her discredited, unpaid and permanently gone from council chambers.
Pickering has already docked Cllr. Robinson’s pay for 90 days as a result of combined efforts to malign her and along with the final decision made by the “Integrity” Commissioner, Janice Atwood-Petkovski, who was called upon to investigate the matter but was clearly biased (Video Evidence). Councillor Robinson’s crime? Questioning harmful city policies and genuinely representing her constituents who, through the democratic process, voted her into office.
