EMERGENCY MEETINGS!

Did you know that Durham Region is planning to implement the Durham Envision Plan (annotated here) – a not-so-thinly-veiled agenda to impose a version of the 15-Minute-City concept right in your backyard? Have you even heard anything about this or how it will impact your way of life? Have you been invited to have a say in what is being Envision-ed?

Did you know this plan seeks to: (See the Notice of Decision here)

  • establish minimum density and intensification targets?
  • envision Durham’s growth to 1.3 million residents by 2051 representing an almost doubling of the Region’s 2021 population?
  • address provincial, not local, policy direction and government priorities?
  • focus new transit stations on pedestrian-oriented places?
  • direct population and employment to the Urban System?
  • limit growth permitted within the Rural System?
  • apply to all lands within the Region of Durham?

This has all the harbingers of a Surveil, Monitor, Analyse, Report, Technocracy! (see A4C SMART City Flyer).

Did you sign up for this?
Do you want your privacy & property rights eroded?
Do you want to walk/ride your bike in Canadian winters?
Do you want to be corralled into smaller and smaller spaces?
Do you know this agenda is being rolled out across the country?

Do you know you can do something about it?

Join us for the A4C Oshawa Chapter strategy meetings in advance of the public planning meetings to learn more about the full plan and how to have your say.
