In our previous Pastors Webinar, Pastor Matthew Trewhella delivered a powerful message on the duty of pastors to stand firm and preach the whole counsel of God’s Word without compromise (see recording below). This raises an equally important question: Are we, as a nation and as the Church, remaining faithful to God’s most fundamental commandments?

When God delivered His moral law in Exodus 20, His first two commandments were unequivocal: We are to have no other gods before Him, nor make or worship idols. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly warned His people of the severe consequences of turning to false gods and idolatry, including allowing enemy nations to rise against them and bring destruction. Are we witnessing the consequences of turning away from God’s commandments in our own time? As Christians, we must take these Biblical warnings seriously and examine the spiritual condition of our nation. In contrast, God promised blessings to those who remained faithful to Him.

Canada was founded upon Judeo-Christian Biblical principles, and the preamble to our Charter of Rights and Freedoms declares:

“Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.”

When the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was created, the freedom of religion provision under Section 2(a) was added for the sole purpose of keeping the government out of the business of the Church. It was never intended to provide protection for the practice and worship of false gods.

The expansive interpretation raises profound Biblical and constitutional questions that deserve serious examination, such as:

  • How did the modern understanding of the term ‘religion’ develop?
  • How does it relate to Canada’s Christian constitutional foundations?
  • What responsibility does the Church have to address practices that Scripture clearly teaches are offensive to God?

In this important Pastors Webinar, Action4Canada founder and director Tanya Gaw will present her constitutional research paper, Challenging the Expansive Interpretation of ‘Religion’, examining the historical development of the term, the Coronation Oath, and the Biblical principles upon which Canada was founded.

This presentation is intended to challenge pastors and church leaders to examine these issues through the authority of Scripture, understand the constitutional questions being raised, and consider their responsibility to faithfully proclaim God’s Truth to the nation.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God calls His people to humble themselves, pray, seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, promising to hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land. If we desire to see God heal our nation, we must begin with humility, repentance and renewed faithfulness to His Word, without compromise.

We invite pastors and church leaders to join us for this thought-provoking presentation. Please register today and share this invitation with others.

Previous Pastors Webinar: The Duty of the Lesser Magistrate

If you missed our recent Pastor Webinar with Pastor Matthew Trewhella, we encourage you to watch this powerful and timely presentation on The Duty of the Lesser Magistrate: When Government Defies God, Pastors Must Stand. Pastor Matthew addresses the Biblical duty to resist tyranny and encourages pastors to remain courageous, steadfast and faithful to their calling, preaching the whole counsel of God’s Word without compromise.

We invite you to share this important presentation with fellow pastors, church leaders and members of your congregation.

Action4Canada has also developed a dedicated Church Resource Page to help encourage and equip pastors and church leaders. It includes important information and resources addressing Bill C-9, the Coronation Oath, the rights and responsibilities of clergy, previous pastor webinars, and other materials to help strengthen and equip the Church to stand firm in these challenging times.

In 2015, Tanya Gaw answered God’s call to proclaim Canada a Christian nation, embarking on a life-changing journey that would grow into one of Canada’s largest national movements. What began with just 12 people on Tanya’s email list has become Action4Canada—a nationwide organization with chapters across the country, reaching millions of Canadians and uniting their voices in opposition to the destructive policies tearing at the fabric of our nation—a nation founded on Judeo-Christian Biblical principles.

Through effective resources, proven strategies and Call To ACTION campaigns, Action4Canada educates, equips, empowers and mobilizes citizens to lobby elected officials, influence public policy and hold government accountable. Action4Canada also takes legal action to defend the constitutional rights and freedoms of Canadians. Working with churches, pastors, political representatives and business leaders, Action4Canada is committed to defending our national security and the rights and freedoms of Canadians—especially children, parents and the Church.

This short video introduces founder Tanya Gaw and highlights Action4Canada’s mission, resources and some of its victories.
