Today, we honor and celebrate fathers—men called to love deeply, lead boldly, and protect fiercely.
Fatherhood is one of the greatest callings a man can receive. It goes beyond simply being present and providing—it means offering strength in times of uncertainty, showing compassion when it’s needed most, and creating a home where wisdom and peace can grow.
The following poem by Rev Claude Wisdom White, Sr captures the profound responsibility and influence a father carries as a guiding example for his child:
A Little Fellow Follows Me
A careful man I want to be,
A little fellow follows me;
I do not dare to go astray,
For fear he’ll go the self-same way.
I cannot once escape his eyes.
Whate’er he sees me do, he tries;
Like me he says he’s going to be,
The little chap who follows me.
He thinks that I am good and fine,
Believes in every word of mine;
The base in me he must not see,
The little chap who follows me.
I must remember as I go,
Through summer’s sun and winter’s snow;
I’m building for the years to be
That little chap who follows me.
On this Father’s Day, let every man remember that the greatest gift he can offer his children is being the living example of a good husband, a pillar of a stable home, and a man of unwavering integrity. In a world where the natural family unit is under constant attack and fatherhood is too often diminished, it is more important than ever to stand firm and reclaim the honor of this vital role. True strength is not measured by convenience or conformity, but by courage, commitment, and character. Fathers, your legacy is powerful—embrace it boldly, knowing you are deeply valued and needed now more than ever.
Wishing you a truly blessed Father’s Day.
