As we face difficult times in Canada and with each passing year, Canadians are understanding more clearly the gift that our founding fathers blessed us with in forming a nation founded on Christian biblical principles. Over the past decades we have experienced first hand the failure of multiculturalism, secularism, and Justin Trudeau’s catatonic idea of Canada being the first post-national state with no core identity.
The reason these systems of governance are failing is because they crush and divide us rather than unite and there is no such thing as a free and democratic nation, apart from those that are founded on Christian Biblical principles that honour and embrace the One and only true Creator God. These principles, which form our laws and our values, have been tried and true and are embedded in our Magna Carta, our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Evidence of our Christian heritage is also throughout Parliament Hill, wherein many of our Parliament Buildings, such as the Peace Tower, have scripture engraved on them and embedded in the stained glass windows.
This Canada Day we pray that Canadians will not merely go through the motions of attending an event and feeling good for a day but will also feel inspired to celebrate Canada every day of the year and each commit to doing their part to preserve our rich heritage by teaching these values to our children in order to pass them on to the next generation. We need to take the time to educate others about the value of loving both God and Country!
In homage to Canada’s history let’s also be reminded of our original national anthem by Robert Stanley Weir, 1908, which is further evidence of our heritage as a Christian nation.
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love thou dost in us command.
We see thee rising fair, dear land,
The True North, strong and free;
And stand on guard, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
(Refrain)
O Canada! O Canada!
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee,
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee.
O Canada! Where pines and maples grow,
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow,
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea!
Thou land of hope for all who toil!
Thou True North, strong and free!
(Refrain)
O Canada! Beneath thy shining skies
May stalwart sons and gentle maidens rise,
To keep thee steadfast through the years
From East to Western sea,
Our own beloved native land,
Our True North, strong and free!
(Refrain)
Ruler Supreme, Who hearest humble prayer,
Hold our dominion within Thy loving care.
Help us to find, O God, in Thee
A lasting, rich reward,
As waiting for the Better Day,
We ever stand on guard.
(Refrain)
God Keep Our Land Glorious and Free!
