Dear Pastor,
On June 18, 2026 Action4Canada hosted an informative online webinar for pastors and church leaders (see below) in response to the passing of Bill C-9 and were encouraged by the strong turnout and level of engagement from across Canada. We believe it is critical to continue to support pastors and therefore, we are hosting another webinar featuring special guest Pastor and author Matthew Trewhella on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 10am PST / 1pm EST. There will also be Q&A following the presentation.
Pastor Matthew is the pastor of Mercy Seat Christian Church, in Hartland, Wisconsin. He and his wife, Clara, have 11 children and reside in Milwaukee. He is the author of The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates: A Proper Resistance to Tyranny and a Repudiation of Unlimited Obedience to Civil Government. Pastor Matthew is also the founder of DefyTyrants, a resource dedicated to teaching and applying the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates.
With Bill C-9 now in effect in Canada, many clergy may feel increasing pressure to be cautious in preaching the whole counsel of the Word of God. Pastor Matthew will address the challenge of remaining faithful to the calling, faithful to the Word, and faithful to the ministry. There is a great reward for those who remain courageous, steadfast, and righteous.
When the first-century apostles were threatened and commanded to stop preaching in the name of Jesus Christ, their response was unequivocal:
Acts 5:29 — “We ought to obey God rather than men.”
We invite you to join us for this important webinar to be encouraged, strengthened, and challenged to stand firm and forge ahead without compromise, knowing that you are not alone. Please share this invitation with other Christian leaders.
The webinar will be recorded so if you are unable to attend live—as long as you have registered—you will receive a link to the recording.
Previous Pastors Webinar: Bill C-9 & The Coronation Oath
This important presentation, featuring constitutional researcher David Lindsay, Pastor Dan Vachon and Tanya Gaw, examines the Coronation Oath and its constitutional authority in relation to Bill C-9, demonstrating why government does not have unlimited authority to interfere with the faithful preaching of the Word of God. Pastors are encouraged to understand their rights, recognize the constitutional protections that safeguard the Church, and stand firm in preaching the whole counsel of the Word of God without compromise.
Action4Canada has also developed a dedicated Church Resource Page to help encourage and equip pastors and church leaders. It includes important information and resources addressing Bill C-9, the Coronation Oath, the rights and responsibilities of clergy, previous pastors webinars, and other materials to help strengthen and equip the Church to stand firm in these challenging times.
