In December 2025, Action4Canada, along with Common Law Education and Rights (CLEAR), launched a major campaign directed at Governor General Mary Simon regarding Bill C-9. The goal was to remind her of her constitutional duties, the limits of her power under the Constitution Act, 1867, and the principles contained in the Coronation Oath, which she swore to protect, uphold, and maintain. Thousands of Canadians sent letters and emails demanding she fulfil her role.

As a result, we believe it is not a coincidence that as public pressure was growing, Mark Carney decided to replace her with Louise Arbour—a powerful UN insider whose record raises profound concerns about where her loyalties truly lie?

We must demand that Carney immediately withdraw Arbour’s appointment and select someone free from the serious conflicts of interest and ideological baggage that Arbour brings to this role.

Dear Prime Minister Carney,

Re: Immediate Withdrawal of the Honourable Louise Arbour’s Appointment as Governor General

I am writing to express my profound opposition to the appointment of the Hon. Louise Arbour as the next Governor General of Canada and to demand that you immediately withdraw her appointment before she is sworn into office on June 8, 2026.

As the representative of His Majesty The King, the Governor General holds a solemn Constitutional office. Upon taking office, she swears the Oath of Allegiance to the King and the Oath of Office as Governor General and Commander-in-Chief. In doing so, she binds herself to faithfully represent the Sovereign, who is himself bound by the Coronation Oath sworn before Almighty God.

The King’s Coronation Oath Constitutionally requires him to govern according to the laws and customs of the realm, uphold law and justice, maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel, and defend the Protestant Reformed Religion and Canada’s Christian Constitutional heritage.

The Governor General, as the King’s representative, therefore has a duty to safeguard Canada’s sovereignty, Constitutional order, responsible government, and Christian heritage—not advance personal ideology or globalist agendas, which are not recognized in our law as set out in the Coronation Oath.

Hon. Arbour brings globalist viewpoints and agendas into a fundamentally nationalist office making her unfit for this position.

For example, how can Louise Arbour serve as Commander-in-Chief when she has openly and viciously attacked the culture of the Canadian Armed Forces? She stated:

“If you just recruit white boys who like guns but don’t like women or anybody who doesn’t look like them, you’ll perpetuate that culture.”

She has also aggressively promoted mass migration and dismissed concerns about the erosion of Canada’s social fabric, declaring:

“We can look to the past and stagnate in isolation, or we can embrace a future in which our children will develop their own culture, fully open to that of others.”

Her long career within the United Nations—including serving as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Special Representative for International Migration—reflects deep ideological commitments to global governance structures that increasingly undermine national sovereignty and democratic accountability.

At a time when Canadians are deeply concerned about preserving our sovereignty, freedoms, institutions, Christian culture and heritage, appointing a committed UN insider to one of the highest Constitutional offices in the nation raises profound concerns about where her true loyalties lie.

Prime Minister, Canadians deserve a Governor General who will uphold Canada’s Constitutional and Christian heritage, and serve the interests of the Canadian people above international ideological agendas. I therefore urge you to immediately withdraw Hon. Louise Arbour’s appointment and appoint an individual whose record reflects loyalty to Canada, respect for our Constitutional foundations, and commitment to preserving our national sovereignty and identity.
