We are so pleased to have Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada, back to the Empower Hour at a critical moment in Canada’s history.

For years, Maxime has worked tirelessly to overcome the unique obstacles facing the populist movement in Canada. This movement has achieved sweeping electoral success in a growing number of countries such as Poland, Hungary, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Japan, El Salvador, USA and Argentina, yet in Canada, many right-leaning voters have traditionally prioritized voting for the Conservative Party of Canada simply to remove the Liberals, rather than voting for a party that truly reflects their values, priorities, and long-term concerns for Canada’s future.

Reluctant to “split the conservative vote,” these voters hesitated to support the PPC—even when its platform aligned far more closely with their convictions.

However, that dynamic may be about to change.

Following the recent Conservative Party convention, the populist movement in Canada is gaining renewed momentum. Decisions made on the convention floor have left many grassroots conservatives questioning whether the CPC still represents them, and whether it is finally time to vote for their values, rather than merely against another party.

These are issues that resonate with a growing number of Canadians who feel their voices are increasingly marginalized or dismissed in mainstream political discourse.

The PPC’s platform offers clear, principled positions grounded in genuine conservative values. 

At the recent Conservative Party convention in Calgary, delegates were given a clear chance to correct course on Bill C-4 (legislation the entire Conservative caucus voted for in January 2022). They refused.

Bill C-4 shields “gender-affirming care” while criminalizing parents and counsellors who question or challenge a child’s belief that they were “born in the wrong body.” Parents can be investigated, fined, or imprisoned for seeking counselling that affirms reality, while the state is empowered to intervene if they do not comply. This law effectively places government ideology above parental authority.

This vote came despite mounting evidence of real-world harm. In the United States, a recent court ruling awarded $2 million to a young woman who detransitioned after being socially indoctrinated and psychologically pressured into irreversible medical decisions as a minor—decisions the court recognized as having mutilated her body. The court agreed she was manipulated, inadequately informed, and harmed. This case is not isolated: 28 similar lawsuits are now underway in the US, with legal experts predicting thousands more as the consequences of this ideology become undeniable.

It is finally being called out and named for what it is, a crime against humanity. Every teacher, school board trustee, counsellor and activist facilitating this better take note, the risk of personal liability is increasing and justice is coming for you. 

Much of this harm is driven by a social contagion, fuelled by schools teaching gender ideology that exploits children’s innocence and causes confusion. Instead of protecting families, Bill C-4 legislates against those trying to help—while entrenching a system that fast-tracks vulnerable children toward medical pathways they cannot fully understand. Despite all this, Conservative delegates voted against overturning Bill C-4. Are they therefore complicit with these crimes against our children?

On abortion, the message was just as clear. The Conservative Party again refused to amend its platform or introduce any legislation to protect preborn life. Canada remains the only developed nation with no abortion law whatsoever, permitting abortion through all stages of pregnancy—without restriction.

For many long-time Conservative members, this convention confirmed what they’ve been trying to ignore: the party is drifting left, abandoning its base, and aligning with Liberal positions on the most fundamental moral and social issues.

This is why the populist vote is growing—and why more Canadians are concluding that real change may require a different political choice.

Victory Comes When a Nation Turns Back to God

Around the world, nations experiencing populist victories are rediscovering a simple truth: real change begins by turning back to God. At the US Prayer Breakfast, President Nayib Bukele explained that El Salvador—once the murder capital of the world—became one of the safest countries in the region only through God’s intervention. They did not pray for power or prosperity, but for wisdom, and God guided their decisions. Brave men and women stood firm, trusted God with the outcome, and won the spiritual battle before winning the physical one. Bukele’s message was clear: if God can do this for El Salvador, He can do it for any nation—but we must first turn back to Him and ask for wisdom.

Canada is Christian nation but we have turned our back on God and we are paying the price. Are you ready to make it a priority to repent as a nation, turn from our wicked ways and get right with Him? If so, God promises to heal our land according to 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land“

What many dismiss as “populism” is, in fact, a Christian movement of nations turning back to God—and it is the only proven path to restoration. Canada must now decide whether it will follow. It is time to choose this day whom you will serve: God or man.

Marxism, Universities and Suppression of Truth
