Campaigns to Educate, Empower & Mobilize Canadians
The Action4Canada Saskatoon Chapter is calling upon members to attend an important meeting TONIGHT to support the Fairhaven Community. The wellness shelter located in their neighborhood is a concern for residents. It is over capacity with about 106 residents. Crime has increased since the opening of this shelter, and the overall safety in their community has been negatively impacted. Please attend tonight’s meeting, in which city councilor Robert Pearce, police chief Cam McBride, and fire chief Doug Wegren will present information about this concern.
Public Safety Meeting
Fairhaven Community Regarding
Wellness Shelter
Date: TONIGHT, Wednesday May 28th
Place: The Confederation Inn
3330 Fairlight Dr, Saskatoon, Canada map
Time: Doors open at 6:30pm Meeting at 7:00pm
The topic of neighborhood patrols will be discussed. An organization called The Saskatchewan Citizens On Patrol Association exists in 18 communities in Saskatchewan. They advise and equip communities on how to do patrols in their neighborhoods and report unlawful activities to the police.
This is an important opportunity to engage the public in developing solutions to the growing safety concerns in many communities across Canada. It is not only select neighbourhoods like Fairhaven that are effected. The problem is wide-spread requiring a broad public grassroots response.
Councilor Robert Pearce is advocating at City Hall for positive change in Saskatoon, but is receiving resistance from some of his colleagues and establishment bureaucrats. What do they have to gain by allowing our communities to fall into chaos and by not inviting members of the community to be a part of the solution?
Home is where the heart is. Come hear how you can help restore dignity, safety, and order back to the communities we love. We appreciate the leadership of Councilor Pearce, together with both the Chiefs of Police and Fire Department, as they unveil a plan to partner with community members to help protect people and property, particularly in Fairhaven but also, we hope the success in this community will inspire change throughout the rest of Saskatoon.
Please share this with others and plan to come out even with the short notice. As soon as we hear of other local events, we will endeavour to keep you informed. Change starts at the local level. We hope to see you there.
If you would like to join the local Saskatoon mailing list, please follow the instructions on the Action4Canada join page.
God Bless,
