As expected, the Liberal government is moving quickly and with very little notice to re-table Bill C-9 on Monday, February 9, while attempting to limit debate to just two hours. Bill C-9 weakens the legal standard for “hatred” through vague and subjective language, making it difficult to define or measure and placing freedom of speech and expression at serious risk.
Canada’s Criminal Code already addresses hate-related offences multiple times (including sections 319, 176(2)(3), and 430(1)(c)(d)). The problem is not the absence of laws—it is the failure to enforce the laws already on the books.
The bottom line is this: the Liberal government wants to use Bill C-9 to destroy Canadian democracy by restricting lawful expression and eroding core freedoms. The greatest obstacle to this agenda is the Bible—the Word of God—which affirms objective truth, moral accountability, and inalienable rights that do not originate from the state and cannot be redefined or revoked by any government. By expanding vague hate-speech provisions, Bill C-9 risks criminalizing biblical teaching and undermining Canadians’ God-given and constitutional freedoms of religion, conscience, belief, opinion, expression, and a free press.
Reminder: Constitutional and moral breach of oath. Members of Parliament swore an oath affirming they would not advise the King to act contrary to his Coronation Oath, which binds him to uphold the principles of the Protestant Christian religion. Yet by advancing Bill C-9, MPs are doing exactly that—advising the King, through the Governor General, to grant Royal Assent to legislation that risks criminalizing the public quotation and teaching of portions of the Christian Bible. In doing so, they are not only undermining fundamental freedoms, but violating the very oaths they swore to uphold
This is a Spiritual battle of epic proportions. Canadians must act now. Contact your MP and demand the full rejection of Bill C-9 before debate is shut down and these freedoms are further eroded.

January 2026: Thank you to every member and concerned citizen who responded to our Calls to Action against Bill C-9. Your voices are being heard, and your efforts are having a real impact. As you may have heard, sustained public pressure has forced Bill C-9 to be temporarily put on hold while Parliament turns its attention instead to study Bill C-14, a government bill focused on reforming the bail system in the name of community safety.
This pause matters—but it is not ‘yet’ a victory.
Bill C-9 remains on the table and continues to pose a serious threat to constitutionally protected freedoms. The liberals will either quietly allow it to die or they will attempt to push it through at a later date. Continued vigilance and action are essential to ensure that it never advances further.

Together, we must remain engaged and resolute until this dangerous legislation is finally defeated. This battle is not over until the Bill is fully withdrawn.
