The lesser magistrate is an old term that refers to anyone in civil government who has authority, either elected or appointed (ie. school board trustee/superintendent, mayor/councillor, MLA/MPP, MP, police, pastors).

The primary duty of the lesser magistrates is threefold. Firstly, they are to oppose and resist any laws or edicts from the higher authority that contravene the law or Word of God. Secondly, they are to protect the person, liberty, and property of those who reside within their jurisdiction from any unjust or immoral laws or actions by the higher authority. Thirdly, they are not to implement any laws or decrees made by the higher authority that violate their nation’s constitution. If necessary, they are to resist them.

With this in mind, I would encourage everyone to provide a copy of Pastor Trewhella’s book, The Duty of the Lesser Magistrate, to every elected or appointed official in your area. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this page for other Solutions and Resources to help save Canada!

A Proper Resistance to Tyranny

When: Wednesday, May 3, 2023 4:30pm PST/7:30pm EST Register in Advance. The zoom doors open at 4:30pm PST and the Empower Hour begins at 5pm PST/8pm EST.

Matthew Trewhella, pastor and author, joins Tanya on the Empower Hour to discuss his book, The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates. There isn’t a more important book, other than the Bible, that provides the kind of instruction currently needed to effectively and swiftly dismantle the agenda of corrupt civil servants, in order to maintain our God-given inalienable rights.

The problem according to Pastor Trewhella is that, “If a citizenry does not know the purpose and limitations of the State, then the civil government can misuse its power because the citizenry is unable to measure when something improper is occurring”. In other words, in the rights hands, Knowledge is Power! Citizens need to educate themselves on their guaranteed rights based on the Coronation Oath, the Constitution, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Criminal Code. Duty to Defy Tyrants

Why is the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate so important when it comes to the authority of civil government? Because of human nature, there are always men (and women) who are willing to corrupt all forms of government. A multi-level government is critical in order to have the ability to stop the corruption from spreading and succeeding. It is therefore, also important to impart Biblical doctrine unto our magistrates, and re-instill in them the fear of God. Watch video explaing the doctrine HERE.

Government’s Authority is Limited

Romans 13: An interpretation you haven’t heard before. Please take 7 minutes to help you truly understand that the government does NOT have unlimited powers. Great video!

Duty to Interpose

Interpose definition: to bring (influence, action, etc.) to bear between parties, or on behalf of a party or person.

On March 22, 2020 Pastor Trewhella preached his first sermon exposing the false narrative of the covid pretend-demic. The sermon was entitled A Contrarian Look at Covid 19. He went on to expose the evil, preaching in a series of sermons regarding the matter over the next two years – the sermons have hundreds of thousands of listens. His uncompromising commitment to watch over his flock and to warn them of evil and not to be silent in the face of it, is a fine example of the duty of the lesser magistrate, and in accordance with Acts 20:28.

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood”

To help Canadians assert their rights, Action4Canada created the following resource. You can print it, or have it available on your phone for quick access, should your freedom of speech or rights be infringed upon or if you are prohibited from attending a meeting or event eg. council meeting, school board meeting, rally or other event. Access the Resource HERE.

We peacefully assemble and engage government officials because we have a moral and ethical duty to do so. It is critical that this engagement be consistent and ongoing in order to confront and curtail government overreach and any agenda to interfere with our democracy and/or violate our God-given unalienable rights and freedoms. The freedom to peacefully protest, freedom of speech, thought and belief, privacy, and the right to work are all protected rights and freedoms according to God’s law, the Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Police, elected officials, educators, government employees, and lay people do not have the right to hinder or prohibit citizens: from expressing their opinion or concerns; engaging the public; or participating in all levels of civic engagement.
