Tragically, abortion has become normalized in our society, hidden behind slogans and language that distance us from the reality of what is taking place. Terms like “a woman’s right to choose” and “reproductive health” often ignore the fact that abortion ends the life of a unique and developing person. This is not merely a political issue—it is a profound moral crisis that challenges what we value and what kind of nation we are becoming. Canada aborts over 100,000 babies every year while facing a declining birth rate. We do not need to rely on mass immigration to sustain our population; we need to value and protect every Canadian life, from the womb to the tomb.
Canada is the only western “civilized” nation with NO abortion legislation. Abortion is legal up to FULL term, including sex-selective abortions targeting baby girls. This is long past due for change. We need a law—grounded in God’s law that recognize and protect the sanctity of life.
The Liberals, NDP, Bloc Québécois, Greens, and Conservatives have all refused to enact legislation limiting abortion. At present, the People’s Party of Canada and the Christian Heritage Party are the only parties willing to introduce abortion legislation, though neither currently holds a seat in the House of Commons. If Canadians want laws that protect life, we must actively support principled leaders who are willing to defend the unborn—long before election day arrives.
